Call for papers

The Spanish-Portuguese Association of Natural and Environmental Resources Economics is glad to announce that its X AERNA Conference will be an in-person conference.

The conference will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business (Universitat de Barcelona) on 1-3 September 2022.

The call for papers is now open and submissions on all relevant topics related to Environmental and Natural Resource Economics are invited. Theoretical and empirical papers, as well as long abstracts (max. 1000 words), at a reasonably advanced stage but still unpublished are invited for submission. In case of long abstracts submissions, presenters should send the complete paper to aerna.conference2022@ub.edu by July 1st, 2022.

We encourage to submit papers written in English. Submissions in Spanish and in Portuguese will also be possible, however, these presentations will be pool together in special sessions. 
Young researchers and PhD students who wish to attend are most welcome. All submissions will undergo the regular peer review process. Notification of submission acceptance is expected by April 25th, 2022.

Call for papers Aerna 2022

AERNA Best Paper Award for an Economist under the Age of Forty

During the Conference, AERNA is granting its AERNA Best Paper Award for an Economist under the Age of Forty, a recognition given to the best paper presented by a young economist at the AERNA’s Annual Conference.

AERNA Award

The Award aims to reward new ideas addressing key environmental and resource economic issues at the national, European, and global scale. Both theoretical and empirical papers will be considered without any restriction on topics. Priority will be given to papers by a single author or multiple authors complying with the age requirement. There is a monetary reward of €500 for the presenter of the winning paper. The Selection Committee is formed by a person appointed by AERNA Council, acting as a chair, and two persons appointed by the Chairs of the Programme Committee.

All eligible presenters can submit their candidacy to the Award at the paper submission process.

AERNA Best Published Paper Award

During the Conference, AERNA is granting its AERNA Best Publication Award
Submission deadline: July 15th,2022

Registrario AERNA

AERNA issues a prize of 1000€ for the best paper published in scientific journals during the past two years (that is, in 2020 or 2021), in which at least 50% of the authors are members of AERNA.
This Award recognizes exemplary research published by AERNA members. The Award is given biannually and announced at the AERNA Annual Conference. Two requirements are taken into account:
– Paper: Any article published during the preceding two years is eligible for this award
– Authors: At least 50% of the authors must be are members of AERNA.

Cancellation policy: No refunds of the AERNA membership fee will be given. No refunds of the registration fees will be issued after June 30, 2022. In any case, a cancellation fee of 50 euros can be charged. Cancellations must be requested to aerna.conference2022@ub.edu with the word “Refund” in the subject line.

The X AERNA Conference will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business (Universitat de Barcelona).

By plane

The Josep Tarradellas Barcelona‐El Prat airport is located 12 km south from the city. It consists of two terminals (T1, T2) connected to the city centre by Metro, train, taxi and bus. Travel time to the Faculty of Economics and Business is 15’ by taxi, and around 35’ by Metro (line L9S).

By train

The train station Barcelona Sants is the main access point to the city by train. It counts with a wide range of national and international connections, including AVE. Travel time to the Faculty of Economics and Business is 15’ by Metro.

By car
